Legal Structure

The German Center in Ras Ak Khaimah (GC RAK) was established on October 6th 2015 by Emiri Decree No. 21 of 2015 of His Highness Saud Bin Saqr Bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah as non-profit institution, having a legal and independent personality enjoying full authority and powers to act within its objectives and Articles of Association (AOA) and Memorandum of Understanding (MOA).

GC RAK Objectives (Art. 4 AOA)

GC RAK is a non-profit institution established for the public benefit and shall have the following objectives:

  • Running and Managing the GC RAK premises;
  • Promotion & development of the cultural and economic relations between Germany and Ras Al Khaimah.
  • Rendering services for interested enterprises and institutions in Germany and Ras Al Khaimah.
  • Holding forums in which GC RAK members may discuss common interests related to their cultural and economic interests in Ras Al Khaimah.
  • Executing programs and projects in the area of training and further education, youth exchange, cultural exchange, internships etc.
  • Organizing and set-up of events and projects to develop the relations possibilities in Germany and United Arab Emirates / Ras Al Khaimah.
  • Any other activities to the extent permitted by the provisions herein stated and in accordance the GC RAK objectives.

Board of Directors (Art. 5 and 6 AOA )

GC RAK shall have a Board of Directors presided by Mr. Moritz Kerler as Chairman and the following members:

  • Moritz Kerler, Founding Member, Chairman and CEO
  • Andreas Hangarter, Founding Member and Vice-Chairman
  • Saeed Al Ghurair, Board Member
  • Martin Geskes, Board Member
  • Dr. Peter Goepfrich, Board Member
  • Nadeen Kerler, Board Member
